Daikin Industries Co., Ltd. is a Japanese multinational air conditioner manufacturing company based in Osaka. Its history dates back to 1924 and received its current name Daikin Industries Ltd in 1982. A number of acquisitions, including McQuay International in 2006, made Daikin Industries a major global manufacturer of HVAC. Daikin has developed the first split and multi-split air conditioners, and is the inventor of variable flow coolant (VRF) air conditioners.
